ROMAN
IMPERIAL SILVER COIN FEATURING 'LIBERTAS' THE ROMAN GODDESS OF LIBERTY AND
FREEDOM COIN PENDANT
IN 14KY GOLD
238 A.D.
This
beautiful and well detailed GENUINE ancient Roman silver
antoninianus
coin depicting the goddess LIBERTAS is an attractive and unique piece of
wearable ancient history. It was minted under the rule of the
emperor Gordian I in 238 A.D. and features his profile on the back side
of the pendant which is visible but not meant to be worn outward.
The more interesting depiction of LIBERTAS makes for a fantastic
centerpiece to this fine jewelry pendant. You see her resting
relaxed but confidently against a pillar in long flowing robes as she
holds a spear to protect her freedom.
The lustrous brightness
of the genuine ancient pure silver coin wonderfully contrasts with the
simple 14K polished yellow gold pendant setting. For both its beauty and meaning, this is an
incredible wearable artifact and a perfect piece for anyone who finds
special symbolism in all Libertas stands for.
LIBERTAS was the Roman deity for the embodiment of
FREEDOM and it is the Latin word from which we derive the work LIBERTY
from, today. This Roman goddess was the inspiration for the Statue
of Liberty in America and since the days of ancient Rome, was featured
on currency even unto today in several countries.
Overall diameter is 21 mm,
about the size between a U.S. nickel and penny. CPR155
