ROMAN
REPUBLIC HORSE AND SOLDIER RIDING SILVER DENARIUS COIN PENDANT
IN
14KY GOLD
82 B.C.
This remarkable antiquity from the early days of the Roman Republic is
an excellent example of the classic art style that dominated this
magnificent ancient empire. From
the glory days of the Roman Republic, this stunning GENUINE ancient Roman
silver denarius coin was minted under
P. Crepusius in 82 B.C. and features a superb image of a galloping horse
and a Roman soldier. The action of the scene shows the soldier with
his lance raised high in preparation to spear any unfortunate enemy of the
Empire. The pendant is a solid 14K yellow gold setting with a
decorative beaded design around the perimeter.
The coin is in far
better condition and detail than it appears in the photo above. It features excellent execution of artistic style
and very high relief on its unworn surface. The coins of the early
Roman Empire featured the most beautiful art as they tried to adopt and
mimic the artistry of the earlier Greek culture of which the Roman
Empire assimilated.
Not only is
this coin a true work of ancient art but the gold pendant is of an ancient-like style, that the two are perfect companions
creating this superb masterpiece of ancient coin jewelry.
This coin is classic
ancient Rome and is a superb example of ancient Roman art. Its
militaristic theme demonstrates the foundation for which the Roman
Empire went on to greatness at the protection and might of its army. The
ancient silver of the coin possesses a high luster and makes for a gorgeous and rich
contrast with the 14 karat yellow gold setting pendant setting in which it
is mounted.
A stunning genuine Roman antiquity from
the early Roman Empire!
Overall
diameter is 21 mm or about the size of a US penny.
