The gallery is a small sampling of past works that are shown here as a visual résumé of my ability both in design and execution as well as workmanship.  I now work exclusively with ANCIENT COIN JEWELRY.  

Since 1985, I have been immersed in the jewelry industry and have been experienced in every aspect of this vast realm over the years.  In reflecting on all that I have seen, I have come to one very sad conclusion: there are VERY FEW fresh ideas.  

Nearly everything I see in jewelry style and design today is the same thing over and over.  Everyone keeps copying everyone else and the same junk is sold and has been for decades.  Designers struggle to reinvent the industry as well as themselves.  New stores keep opening and selling the same merchandise that their bankrupt predecessors once sold.  Add the fact that now, technology is so advanced that we can near perfectly manufacture synthetic precious and semi-precious gems (including diamonds!) so well as to fool even the experts, and it's no wonder the industry as a whole, is suffering.  There is little motivation for anyone to buy anymore.

Enter ANCIENT COIN JEWELRY....

In 1990, while doing some commission work for a customer who wanted to incorporate some ancient tokens he had, the bug bit me.  I was completely blown away that such a personal object of antiquity would be so readily accessible.  The more I researched the more I was fascinated.  In that same year, I started designing jewelry using ancient coins and from the very beginning, it was a huge hit so much so that I have decided to forgo all other forms of jewelry and focus on this incredibly fascinating medium.  I know of no other type of jewelry that has such wide appeal, is so rewarding both educationally and culturally and never ceases to amaze.

ANCIENT COIN JEWELRY is in a class all its own in the realm of fine jewelry.  It is unique in that it intrinsically possesses an identity - a specific time, place, people and events.  Fine jewelry featuring a genuine ancient coin embodies so much more than all other forms of jewelry.  Each piece makes a statement and can also have personal significance based on who or what is featured on the coin.

SUBZERO FISHBONE

Sterling silver, Zebra Jasper and Diamond pendant.  Icy cold in appearance, the unique frost-like iridescent banding of the stone is replicated in the finish on the silver body.  Very multidimensional with a Diamond eye protruding on it's silver stem.  Tail spins around and is finished on both sides.  Diamond is a .08 ct flawless round brilliant, F color. 

Sterling and fine silver, 14KY gold, Picasso Jasper and Citrine pendant with chain.  Playing off the image of a flaming cross in the Picasso Jasper, I emphasized that with bars of silver in the same angle and location as the stone.  Gold drips from the base and terminates in a 6 mm round brilliant cut citrine in gold.  Over 3" by 2" in size, this is a very visually impacting piece.  Includes a 16 inch heavy sterling snake chain.  Signed by the artist.  

Sterling Silver, 18KY gold, Picasso Jasper, Chinese Turquoise, Andalusite, and Diamond pendant with 18" heavy sterling snake necklace.  I must admit I am reluctant to offer this piece for sale since it's creation spanned over 3 years of my life, the longest I have ever kept any work open to evolving design.  It truly is one of my most sentimental works of art.  On a textured silver foundation, the green Chinese Turquoise wheel is natural and the brown areas match the Jasper in a bizarre way since both are totally unrelated gems.  The core of the Turquoise 'earth' features a rare gem called Andalusite that displays two colors (dichroic), green and brown simultaneously.  As molecules converging into an earth, 18KY gold stems encircle the Turquoise and two atoms of Diamond hover over the top.  Overall dimensions are 4" by 2" and includes a beautiful heavy silver 18" snake necklace.  An incredibly gorgeous masterpiece and melding of rare gems and metals!!!  Signed by the artist.  

From a very limited series, these unique works of art feature fossilized dinosaur bone set in sterling silver.  Roughly two inches in length, the intricacy of the hand cut design in silver mimics the complex bone cell structure.  Just when you thought you saw it all in jewelry, I proudly present this design of mine as a breath of fresh air, simple yet fascinating!

Sterling and fine silver, Zebra Jasper and Cats-eye Moonstone.  This mystical piece has a unique finish on the silver body that makes any light shining on it take on different shapes from any angle.  The Moonstone head reflects a dancing band of light to compliment the horizontal bands of folded silver.  Over four inches in length make this undersea goddess features a tail that spins made of iridescent banded Zebra Jasper.  Signed by the artist.  

SUNSHINE IN THE DARKNESS

18 KY gold, platinum and Canary Diamond  ring.  This heavy rich gold band features a platinum sun radiating from a Fancy Canary Yellow Diamond wrapped in yellow gold.  Surrounding the sun are six sparkling stars in white Diamonds.  Center stone round brilliant SI1, .50 ct with six .06 ct round brilliants VVS1, F.     

A bold and timeless design.  These 18KY gold and platinum wedding bands are a perfect compliment to any style of dress and richly display the contrast of precious white and yellow metals.  Finely handcrafted and of substantial weight, these rings will last generations, far different than the rings found in jewelry stores today.  Future family heirlooms!
