ANCIENT CELTIC SILVER DRACHM OF HERAKLES COIN PENDANT

IN 14KY GOLD

323 - 317 B.C.

With the most aesthetic artistry typical and unique to the ancient Celts, this genuine silver drachm featuring Herakles makes for a stunning piece of jewelry.  This very rare and superb grade coin is set in a 14K yellow gold polished setting with a snakeskin motif.  The coin was minted by the Celtic tribes occupying the Danube River region and is their imitation of a coin the Greeks minted during the rule of Philip III.  The Celtic-rendered profile of Herakles is shown in perfect and complete detail and relief.  The reverse side, not shown, depicts Herakles sitting on a throne holding an eagle and scepter.  With most ancient Celtic coinage being too poorly struck or eroded to appreciate, this is a very rare offering, indeed.  HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE OF CELTIC ORIGIN!!!

Unlike the classic Greek art styles, the Celts boldly rendered their coinage in their own unusual stylized versions.  Celtic art is so unique and unlike any other style that ever existed from any other culture.  The mysterious use of abstract curves and lines along with surreal representations of goddesses, monsters, animals, plants and humans cannot be mistaken.  The designs are timeless and surpass the beauty, depth and oddity of any contemporary artist.

An exquisite, fine grade wearable artifact featuring the finest Celtic artistic style that is unmistakable for this highly unique ancient culture!

Overall diameter is 21 mm.
