BYZANTINE FOLLES COIN PENDANT

This has to be one of the most beautiful and yet simple large bronze coins I currently offer in a pendant.  The remarkable chocolate brown patina goes perfect with the high polish of the 14 KY gold setting.  Dating from the 7th cent AD, this folles features a large M on the reverse with the chi-ro christogram above the M.  The chi-ro was an early Christian symbol appearing sometimes in place of a cross on coinage and artifacts.  If you have an M in your initials, this coin could be the perfect gift for yourself!  The M stood for the Greek numeral 40, the main denomination on Byzantine folles coins.  Overall diameter is a sizable 23 mm.  I highly recommend this for your collection.  It's a stunning masterpiece with superb detail and presentation!
