ROMAN
CONSTANTINE COIN PENDANT IN
14KY GOLD
WITH STERLING SILVER DECORATION 3RD
- 4TH CENTURY AD An
awesome example of the might of Rome. This ancient Constantine
Roman bronze coin dates from the 3rd - 4th century A. D. and features
the reverse showing a Roman soldier dragging a defeated enemy. Set
in 14KY gold and sterling and measuring over 3/4" in diameter, the
detail is fantastic and well-centered in this fine example of ancient
Roman propaganda. The coin
was issued under the rule of Constantine the Great, the first ruler of the
Roman Empire to convert to Christianity. Constantine
the Great was encamped with his army at the Milvian Bridge, heavily
outnumbered by the armies of his challenger Maxentius, across the river.
While Constantine prayed to one of his gods, he and many of his army
troops who were with him, reported seeing a vision in the heavens above
the sun of a trophy with a cross at its top and light surrounding it.
Simultaneously, they all heard a voice say, "Conquer by This."
